Reflective White Lettering:

In ambient lighting conditions the white reflective letterning is almost pure white and very visible. With direct light it becomes a highly-reflective bright white. The examples here show the same reflective white text on a tan backing. Image A is the patch in daylight (ambient) lighting conditions. Image B is the identical patch in darkened conditions with direct lighting from a flashlight.

Reflective Black or Reflective Colored Lettering:

In ambient lighting conditions black and all other reflective letterning finish is flat and partially translucent. It therefore appears with slight color properties of the patch backing. With direct light it becomes highly-reflective bright white. The examples below show the same reflective black text on a tan backing. Image C is the patch in daylight (ambient) lighting conditions. Image D is the identical patch in darkened conditions with direct lighting from a flashlight.
