Gunshot Residue Kits. Designed for Atomic Absorption (AA) analysis, each collection kit includes cotton swabs in tubes and a liquid chemical. The liquid is put on the cotton swabs and rubbed on the suspected shooter's hands. The cotton swabs are then placed back into the tubes and sent to the lab for analysis. Everything needed for GSR collection is included in this kit, so it reduces the risk of cross-contamination. Each kit is individually sealed and contains instructions, plastic gloves and an envelope and evidence label for resealing.
Gunshot Residue Kits. The Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis kit consists of metal discs 14?5" stub, 11?2" face with an adhesive on them. The discs are dabbed on the hands and the adhesive picks up the gunshot residue particles. The metal discs are then sent to the laboratory. Visible stains do not appear on the hands. The resulting data is obtained only by laboratory examination. Everything needed for GSR collection is included in this kit. Each kit is individually sealed and contains instructions, plastic gloves and an envelope and evidence label for resealing.
Gunshot Residue Kits. Contains supplies for both Atomic Absorption (AA) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis. Check with your local, regional or state criminalistic laboratory to find out which kit they are equipped to analyze. Each kit is individually sealed in a 6" x 9" envelope and contains instructions, gloves and an evidence label for resealing. |
